PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 §       Eighteen years mediation experience; conducted hundreds of mediations including one of the largest environmental disputes in northern Michigan; medical malpractice, personal injury and family law mediations; conducted mediation workshops for public and private organizations.

§       Founder and first president of Northern Community Mediation, for Charlevoix and Emmet Counties, 1993.

§       Michigan State Court Administrative Office Community Dispute Resolution mediation training, October 1993.

§       Mediation training with Friends Suburban Project, Concordvill, PA 1982.

§       In service training on intake procedures by Tri-County Problem Solving Services, 1993.

§       Ten years on part-time faculty of North Central Michigan College teaching classes in business law and mediation.

§       Six years as District Court Judge in Charlevoix and Emmet Counties presiding over civil cases, misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, landlord tenant, small claims court and special assignments to Circuit and Probate Courts.

§       Twenty-nine years in private practice of law with an emphasis on general civil litigation personal injury, family law, real estate and criminal law.
