David Fershee, Managing Partner

Legal Education: Juris Doctorate degree received from Michigan State University/Detroit College of Law in 1973.
Judgeship: Served as District Judge, for Emmet and Charlevoix Counties, 1975-1981.
Community Services: Established Northern Community Mediation Service of Charlevoix and Emmet Counties
Areas of Practice: General Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Criminal Law, Divorce and Family Law Matters. An experienced mediator of Civil and Family Law matters.

David Fershee has years mediation experience; has conducted hundreds of mediations including one of the largest environmental disputes in Northern Michigan; serveral medical malpractice, personal injury and family law mediations; in addition to conducting mediation workshops for public and private organizations.

David provided the Michigan State Court Administrative Office Community Dispute Resolution with mediation training, October 1993; mediation training with Friends Suburban Project, Concordvill, PA 1982; in-service training on intake procedures by Tri-County Problem Solving Services, 1993; served ten years on part-time faculty of North Central Michigan College teaching classes in business law and mediation; and six years as District Court Judge in Charlevoix and Emmet Counties presiding over civil cases, misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, landlord tenant, small claims court and special assignments to Circuit and Probate Courts.

David has over thirty years in private practice of law with an emphasis on general civil litigation personal injury, family law, real estate and criminal law.

John Fershee, Managing Partner

Legal Education: Juris Doctorate degree received from Michigan State University/Detroit College of Law in 1970.
Community Services: Currently serves as a board member of Crooked Tree Arts Center, Trustee of United Methodist Church, and former City Commissioner.
Areas of Practice: Estate Planning, Probate Administration, Real Estate & Condominiums, Corporation & Business Planning, and Litigation in Business and Insurance.

John D. Fershee holds a Certificate of Completion in the areas of probate and estate planning issued by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
